What's insane to me is that the poverty line is the same no matter where you live, but the cost of living from state-to-state is so drastically different. The poverty line in California should not be at the same $ amount as the poverty line in Alabama.

Yeah I live in Ca on 1300 a month and I'm above the poverty line lol. You can almost rent an apartment for twice that much, let alone eat and pay utilities!
