National Guards troops and Marines deployed to Los Angeles are “deeply troubled” about the assignment and feel like they have become “political pawns.” They’re sleeping on concrete floors with no beds, not enough toilets, no funds for food or water, and morale is low.
This is an excellent and powerful opportunity for Food Not Bombs etc to feed the National Guard deployed to LA and for organized groups of medics to provide them access to the same basic care they provide to other unhoused folks in LA. Real community connection is an excellent deescalation strategy.

I know a career soldier, Afghan Veteran, active guardsman, extremely professional under a goofy Southern guy persona. The moment he is off duty, he's out of his work clothes into civilian attire. Knowing him, he would not be very impressed or happy about such a deployment.

As a retired Army 1Sgt (1978-2000) I can assure you moral is extremely low. Not just because of LA but throughout the entire arm service. Trump and Hegseth have no f clue as to what they are doing. These f up changes and modifications are destroying moral. A lot of soldiers are ETS'ing/retiring.

The National Guard and Marines swore allegiance to defend the Constitution of the United States, not the POTUS, much less one with clear intent of living out his Hitleresque fantasy of becoming a fascist dictator. They need to stand up that oath and be counted. The eyes of the nation are on them!
