On June 14 Minn state representative Melissa Hortman was assassinated in her home in Brooklyn Park. Hortman, leader of the state House Democratic caucus, & husband died. Earlier that day, state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot in their home in nearby Champlin and hospitalized.
