In Latin America the far right would shepherd in a dictator, crack down on the opposition. Once the opposition regained power it would inflict retribution. Rinse and repeat. Nicaragua, El Salvador, Brazil

That's not how it would go down in the US. States would form compacts leading to balkanization.

Agreed. The worst case scenario it will be like Colombia where the national government only controls part of the country. It would be horrific economically.
