I wanted to be a news reporter and work for the weather service. We need to fix this fucking bullshit now so we can actually have some of us actually have our careers that we actually really want. I feel like my future got shoved out of my hands and shattered on the floor.
I am sad for you. I am a retired old-school print media journalist who started out in ‘79 as a beat news reporter. Real broadcast journalism ended in the ‘80s. Rent the film Broadcast News for a comedic history lesson. The Internet never adopted journalism standards and ethics. And here we are.
I wish good journalism was still part of the big 5 names. Its cle they were just in it for the money and not to tell people whats really going on
There’s more opportunity in print, but if you want to go broadcast, I recommend independent media.
It has been this way for quite awhile.
