I mean I am sure Trump supporters get mad sometimes but that's like patting yourself on the back for making a baby cry, it's not hard. Also goes against the whole "we need their votes" bs that the party is still hinting at But no part of me believes that Trump is even aware Newsom is doing that
trump is an extremely ego-driven person, he's probably very aware and even bothered by it. but that doesn't actually make anything better for anyone, it's purely vindictive in nature. his politics of pettiness have come to infect even those who oppose him
It wouldn't be surprising if he were bothered by it. But it doesn't take much to bother him. A bishop urging him to show mercy. A judge excoriating him. A politician emulating his cringe. It's all processed the same way.

I’ve had Newsom supporters genuinely claim to me that mocking Trump will somehow bring him down, and they all go mysteriously silent when I ask why that hasn’t been done by a decade of late night hosts making fun of him.
Good point. And I do truly believe that mocking has it's place but it should not be the top priority of people with actual power. It's cope, which I get we need, but you can't convince yourself it's anything more than that and pretend you are part of the real fight
