Yeah I give surrealist films kind of a pass because of the nature of them LOL Zach Snyder's problem has never been his visuals LOL

I did once read a blog post arguing that Sucker Punch was more about making the audience uncomfortable with sexualized violence. Basically arguing that it was Funny Games for horny fanboys. And it was pretty convincing. ...
But then you get to have it both ways and I'm not sure that's really all that defensible.
I have not seen it fully so I will limit my comments but I would say in that case his intent matters and I am not sure the rest of his filmography supports that intent. HOWEVER it would certainly reshape things
I'm more of a "the author is dead" type (no offense) but yeah it's hard to escape auteurist readings no matter how hard I try.
Nothing to be sorry for, we can agree to disagree on that LOL
(sorry being a butthead, but really nothing to apologize for)
Moreso I mean that since you're an author I don't want you dead. (I'm an author who will likely never publish anything again so I'm not sure where that places me).
Sorry I'm gonna keep posting things as I think of them: -Basically everything that was released in that early 3d revival period. My Bloody Valentine 3d, Piranha 3d, Step Up 3d. Also, Fantasia, every Final Destination movie, and most post-Tenenbaums Wes Anderson films. And many kung fu movies.
No worries I will accept answers as long as people want to give them. Hard agree on Final Destination, they are not good, not even in a "so bad it's fun" way, it's just the over the top kills. 3 is probably the only one I legit enjoy. Fantasia I would say is iffy if it fits but very good visuals
I would actually argue a lot of the older disney movies fall into this. They got the animation down well before they got better at storytelling.
