And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. ~Leviticus 11:7-8

It's wild how much they cite Leviticus for some things (*cough cough*) while completely ignoring prohibitions against, just for another example, shellfish. You'd think they hadn't even read the rest of that book!
Gotta love how religious edicts, to not eat pigs that carried the fatal parasite trichinosis, was how they convinced people to not eat pigs. I'm certain some smart person put 2 & 2 together & figured out the disease came from undercooked pork but they were ridiculed. Then religion saves the day. 🙄
Well Jesus in the New Testament taught "Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” ~Matthew 15:10-11
It certainly defiles these pathetic Christians.
What modern day Christians don’t understand is that a Jewish man wasn’t telling fellow Jews to eat any any food. In this passage, he was calling out ritual hand washing after after coming in proximity with Gentiles (who were considering “unclean”) & how silly they were being.
Likewise they misinterpreted the vision Peter had with the basket of unclean animals and a voice telling him to rise and eat, but if they read further on, Peter himself reveals it wasn’t about food at all but about people, that “no man is unclean.”
