‘Territorial expansion’ is a nice euphemism for ‘illegal invasion’

Just like Putin & Ukraine. As part of the commonwealth the UK would be duty bound to back Canada.
Or, "Make America Great Again" through illegal invasions.
Hostile takeover was the phrase that came to my mind
As a Canadian married to a Ukrainian, I can’t help but see similarities in the language Putin employed vis-à-vis Ukraine.
They are frighteningly similar.
Any day now, Trump's going to start talking about "the Nazi problem" in Canada. 😄
Agreed!!!
Probably Putin’s idea!
we're the land link between russia and the states... it's... not a nice feeling
As a Canadian married to a Canadian, I say fuck Trump and all his ass kissers. We won’t go for Americans, we’ll go at the top of that orange turds foolishness.
They are similar because Trump and musk are Putin's agents. The Mueller report found Trump had Russian ties. Trump has been involved with Russia since the 80s. He's destroying us per Putin so he can be dictator for a day.
True

Research Russian hybrid war. Russian bot farms pushing disinformation, buying media and politicians to undermine Western democracies. Romania was their most obvious recent effort. Look behind the right wing narrative emerging in the West and who's funding it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundat...
For cripes' sake. The United States are fully capable of producing and enabling fascist dictators on their own. Blaming Putin for this is just being in denial instead of owning up to your own problems.
Sure. We can produce our own fascists. I'll also ignore forty years of evidence. Not sure what denial proves though. Take one look outside the US and see the hybrid war Russia has been engaging in with the entire West to destabilize democracies. Germany, Georgia, Romania, even brexit was their idea.
This writing off of domestic dissent as foreign influence is fundamentally totalitarian. Does Russia interfere in favor of movements it believes benefits its interests? Of course. So does the US and EU side - on an absolutely massive scale. Still, they didn't invent the causes they support.
The populist far right has been on the march in Europe for decades, well aided by neoliberal economic policies which pitted the working classes of Europe against each other in competition in an ever more precarious situation, workers rights were gutted. We've warned about this since the early 90's.
Does Russia fan the flames to the extent it can? Sure. But a healthy, harmonious Europe would have been largely immune to those attempts. The dissatisfaction and polarization is real and of our own making. Blaming it all on Russia just guarantees we will never solve it.
Destroying countries’ economies to the point of refugee exodus raise natives fear of immigrants taking jobs and cultural replacement. The US melting pot has seemingly cooled into separating layers with flavors that fight each other.
Yes this is ironic. Apparently he started to be a KGB asset when Trump married then Czechoslovakian model Ivana Zelnickova. Mother of Ivanka, Erick and Don Jr. www.businessinsider.com/russia-culti...
@craigunger.bsky.social has a great book on this: American Kompromat: House of Trump, House of Putin.
Oh damn I thought it started with Melania! It goes back even further!

Trump truly is a garbage worthless human being.
Following TomaskY because they're one of the few people I've ever come across who understands the corrupt level of interaction between Donald Trump and the Russian elite.
Or maybe both Trump & Putin have been bought off by Musk. In any order however, #OligarchsOfaFeatherFlockTogether.
EXACTLY!
The same user manual I think.
That's exactly where Trump is getting the language.

I was thinking more "colonization."
Brutal bloody unprovoked war against our closest and longest allies who we've lived at peace with for ages.
Remember 9/11? Now envision it 100X worse. Unlike the US, Canada never loses at war
