What would Independence mean in that context? " Oh we are an independent country now but we're also still British?"

In a hypothetical future situation where Scoland wasn't part of the UK then no, they would not be British (although geographically they would still be part of the British Isles). But that's a hypothetical. At the moment they are legally British. What point are you even trying to make here?
👆 this dude thinks Britain is a country 🤣🤣🤣
Britain is an island and British is a geographical descriptor. So definitionally, yes, independent Scots would still be British in the same way that people from any country south of the US border are Central or South Americans.
Great Britain is also a country descriptor. The full name of the UK is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland" So Britain = Scotland, England, Wales UK = Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland
"liam"
Yes? Are you feeling okay?
You know Liam is an Irish name, do you? Or are you really that ignorant
"liam"
Are you OK?
Asking on behalf of the whole of Scotland
The demonym for the citizenship or residency is British, however if you are born or naturalised in certain circumstances in Northern Ireland you can be Irish or British or both, thanks to the Good Friday Agreement
Interesting that there had to be a historically significant agreement to sort all this out... Must be complicated
I mean there's had to have been historically significant agreements to sort out citizenship of most countries, this one is just unique in that it's one of the ones that's happened in our lifetime
I am sure centuries of behavior by the british government played no role on this at all
Mate, you keep trying to make the point that the British Government has historically done some pretty awful things as if people are disagreeing, and no-one is. We all know that.
He's trying to discredit the idea of someone being British, because the reasons for them moving may have been due to those awful things, which is just bizarre
No, I'm discredited in the idea that you can claim someone else as British. Just because someone moves to Britain doesn't make them British. I don't think most British people would claim that it does. Most Americans don't even though they should
Just be quiet, for the love of God, you ignorant racist cunt.
So you agree with the racist British people who don’t want immigrants in their country? You think this helps your argument or hurts it?
Why should Americans and not British and if a white person had created the dish, would you question whether they were British?
Thank god there are no black citizens of the USA who might be there because horrible things happened to their ancestors.
I'd also like to add that you are very confidently wrong about stuff that you apparently know nothing about.
Yeah but if you ask someone from Peru if they're American they're going to say no
That is due to the fact that there isn't a commonly used term for people from the US aside from "American" which is also the name of the continent. So if you say that you're American people are going to assume you're from the US.
They didn't say American, they said South American
They're British
