It’s a misdemeanor. Civil not criminal. They’re not all rapists and murderers. That’s a gross exaggeration. Change the law because we obviously need these workers. I’d rather have the immigrants here than spending billions of tax dollars on massive government contracts to build a tent.
You do understand that “Misdemeanor” is a category of criminal offenses—crimes…yes? And that Criminal Law and Civil Law are entirely different? Because it sounded like you thought ”civil misdemeanor” is an actual thing.

What crime(s) are you referring to? And most crimes’ guilt or innocence is determined by the requirements of the charged crimes, as applied to the particulars of each individual case.

Theoretically, yes. In reality, the statutes allowing for a change of venue are a tacit admission that this isn’t always possible within a given geographical area and/or criminal act. And I’ll be honest, I have stopped giving Donald Trump any presumption of innocence. I think he ignores laws.
