From a far distance, this is in my view exactly the reason for pardoning Hunter. The signs are clear, all institutions that should provide balance amongst the judiciary powers, are being privatized, demolished, weaponized. There would not be a fair trail.
And there doesn’t need to be a trial at all—we’re all about to learn that the justice system has plenty of ways to ruin people’s lives without a trial or even charges.
