St Andrew’s was the very first golf course I ever stepped foot on. My Grandfather took me. He had sawed down and rebound an old putter for me. I was probably 5. We bonded over golf down to getting him a game boy in the early ‘90s.m simply for THAT game. My son, who’s 6, was born on St Andrew’s Day.

You have to listen with centuries worth of the sarcasm inflection. I swear on all my dialect classes, that this is the key.

Haha Well, I am native German speaker I always compare it to going to Zurich where the dialect is so hard to understand that even a native German speaker struggles Going to Scotland as someone from England or the US etc is about the same

Go to Glasgow and even other Scots have a hard time. It’s a dialect based in historical slang. If you don’t know the reference, you’ll need an interpreter.

I love the Glaswegian accent. My family has sarcasm DNA so now I know why. 😉
