Stop. This is more of the “young people aren’t competent enough” sentiment that bleeds young voters. Competency does not equal experience. Instead of forecasting his struggles, why don’t you engage with his campaign? Share your ideas. Be a part of it, not just a critic.

I’m not saying that experience isn’t important! I’m saying that if you’re worried about the experience, engage with the campaign and offer your experience!!! That’s all!! By posting this, you sound like my grandfather whenever he was offered a meal that was even the slightest bit spicy. Try it!!!

Experience does in fact matter, but some people do find their footing quickly in administrative leadership positions. Mamdani was my #1 so it’s not like I’m against him lol. Chill out

Competency is not the same as experience but experience tends to improve competence. If Mamdani is to be successful he'll seek out experienced staffers to help him. That's not a knock on him, just reality -- it helps to have people who aren't in their first rodeo.

Dunno if Brad Lander would be willing to be Mamdani's Deputy Mayor for Administration and Chief of Staff, but that to me would be a great start.

That would be a great slot for him, and honestly, given how Lander campaigned, I'm guessing there's some level of quid pro quo at work here -- which would be smart for both men.
