I wonder if the various National Guard units, and the branches of the US military, understand that much of their power in this country is reputational? That is, that their power derives from support of the American people, who believe they are defending them? 1/2
And that, when the American people see the National Guard and military turned AGAINST them, how rapidly that support and power will fade? How widely they will become reviled instead of revered? How thoroughly the American people will turn against a standing army? 2/2
