None of those excuses are business logic, Wharton school logic, or Econ 101 logic. There’s hundreds of independent analysts who work to compile monthly and quarterly data. The numbers are not just confirmed by one person. They go through a lot of people and are confirmed by the WH the day before.

It's still business based anyway. No one says "the military uses x amount per year", since they aren't supposed to make profits, they are supposed to protect the nation. A company selling military equipment says, "we made x amount per year". This is because businesses are intended to make money.
