I always have 2 thoughts whenever I see Huey Lewis: ~I remember in the 90's seeing his big Mercedes parked (illegally)in front of a coffee house somewhere in Marin County...Kentfield?Larkspur? ~~My musician husband invariably will remark about the band 'singing like birds' in their background vocals
Saw HL & the News in ‘87 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London backed by Tower of Power horns. Bruce Hornsby opened. Awesome concert.
Those dresses didn’t hold up to the rest of time.
This video seems to try to get every horrible fashion at the time represented here. 😂
Except Huey’s suit, it still passes.
Men's suits do not change much.
Ah, you are skipping over the 70s prom suits I see 😂
With ruffles!
Polyester bell bottoms & “satin” lapels in pastel colors, mostly pale blue. 😂
Yup
A nicer bunch of guys you couldn't hope to meet.
It was a perfect album..all songs were great 👍 Saw them at Blossom Music Center..place was crazy
Huey's next, "Fore!" was the first CD I ever bought, buying my first CD player in 1986. I have very fond memories of all Huey's early albums. I discovered "Sports" after. "Picture This" is great, too. "Heart and Soul" always reminds me of a girl I knew called Tamsin. Ah, Tamsin...
We went to Billings Montana music festival because someone was playing, and it was awful (not mentioning names, even music stars have bad nights, I think) But Huey Lewis made up for it. It was a fantastic set, which I was not expecting. I'm sorry he had to quit.
His mother dated jazz great Charles Mingus...after she divorced Lewis's father.
I loved all his songs in the 80s
Cray. High School was just a few years ago, right?
In 1986 this song came on the radio and a friend of mine looked at me and said: “some of my parents closest friends are Huey Lewis and the News”.
Always loved Huey Lewis, so handsome 💙 Thanks for the memories!
I didn’t realize until recently that this was a cover song. Exile (“Kiss You All Over”) first recorded it two years earlier.
Hard to beat a Mike Chapman and Nicky Chin song produced and performed by a HOF band. Great song.
And it's a cover!
This song sticks in my head and makes me want to die🌬️
Some of the most feel-good music ever made !
Well they nailed it.
I saw them play 4-5 times in the 80s, met most of the band once (My date was a drummer and Bill invited us on the bus to talk shop.)
This is one of my favs
