Not my Party, reg Independent since 1980. Trump is a disaster for all USA, not just Dems. Dem approval rating 2021 after 2nd impeach was over 40%. The only oppo efforts that should be considered now are legal. Anything else plays into the regime's hands. Impeach is only one step to the end result.
Impeach is a step GUARANTEED to fail from a 'legal' perspective. There will NEVER be 18 GOP Senators to vote to convict. (And if there were, JD Vance gets full power) The ONLY power 'impeach' has is political persuasion.....and in that could help, could hurt or could be completely ignored.
Impeachment is a House function and has lots of power and advantages outside of removal. Conviction is unlikely. If it happened, Trump is a demagogue with a cult-like base at the root of his power. JD has no such base, zero charisma, and no fear factor with Congress. Much easier to to counter.
They don’t have enough votes in the House, either. Not enough votes to even bring impeachment up for a vote. Part of the reason that Democrats are unpopular is that trolls keep blaming them for their failure to do the impossible.
Half of the battle is to get our own side to join the fight. Polls hint that Dem reps are headed for electoral destruction if they don't. That should motivate. If the Dems unite, only a handful of R's required to impeach. The public does not insist that the Dems win (convict), only that they fight.
The 2026 election is going to be a referendum on Trump. Have you seen Trump’s polls? No Republican, even Massie, is going to vote to impeach Trump.
Not now. But there's a ton of emotion around Epstein. More with Medicaid cuts, FEMA fails, prices, labor shortages etc. Populist Ds (AOC Bernie / town halls, etc.) must carry truth to R voters and stir them to action. R voters are key. Want to know how your Rep has shafted you? Let me tell you...
i dont think they will impeach trump. But its possible they will could impeach bondi, patel, hegseth and other guys. dems are smart they should start with trump cabinet first before turning out their ire on trump instead of going after trum directly
They can’t impeach anyone. They don’t have the votes. Everybody is complaining “Democrats don’t fight”, but they are expecting Democrats to do impossible things, like impeaching people without a majority of votes.
Actually you need simply majority to impeach which can only happen if dems takes the house which they are expected to do.
Right now the Democrats do not have a majority. What they can do in the future if they win a majority is not relevant.
R voters are not the key. People who are registered Democrats need to show up and vote. That’s all. But loads of people on social media constantly say “Democrats are useless, why bother voting for them?” The people saying those things are doing the job of Republicans. Maybe they are Republicans.
Plus control of the House is 18 months away. If it comes at all after Texas adds five more GOP seats
If we wait 18 months to do something, the country will be unrecognizable. Gerrymandering will be the least of our problems. Right now, the police state is a potential. By then, it will be reality.
