If you delve into the comments section of a video on Facebook or YouTube, there is a subset of people saying they go to see him despite his politics. It never seems to be more than 10% or so. Although people might be keeping quiet because they are outnumbered.

Is the 50% figure just an assumption, based on the idea that people tend to lean more right as they get older? I remember a terrifying stat that the biggest demographic voting for Dubya in 2004 was the Woodstock generation.

I think it’s an assumption based on the nation being roughly evenly divided. His audience had a lot of older white guys, so there is nothing obviously tipping the scales another way. (As there would be among Swifties.) But something does tip the scales: his audience is smart people with good taste!

Yes - we've grown up knowing, "You're gonna need a lot of information to know what it is you're gonna wanna do." 🙂

I remember once talking about Tougher than the Rest and how amazing it is that it so perfectly shares my relationship values and then I realize …. Well it taught me my relationship values. So it actually is not amazing! 😂

Or is it that, as you are a decent person, the song is just articulating where you would have got to anyway?

Hopefully that too! I liked it because it made sense to me and I saw myself in it. But I was also basically still a kid, so by helping me articulate thoughts it also crystallized them into specific words that became mantras with time. It is a positive feedback loop.

Yes, I suppose, for example, I can’t read a lot into the fact that I’ve never seen a MAGA hat at a concert. Because if you own one, that might not be where you would choose to wear it. But it seems like is still evidence that it’s a small minority!

In my experience the full on MAGAs tend to shout about I'm on Fire and Bruce supposedly being a 'Commie'. I had a hilarious 'debate' with a guy who said he was morally opposed to Bruce as he is a 'draft dodger'. Of course, the guy's header image was Trump. Cognitive Dissonance much?

Being upset about I’m on Fire is especially rich coming from a bunch of people who never gave a rip about calling grown women girls before. I’ve been in conversations where I suggested we not use phrases like “the girl in accounting” and it has not gone well.

OMG. Remember when he sang Fortunate Son at some event and they lost their ever loving minds and then it was played at Trump’s dumb parade and no one cared. 🤯 The hypocrisy alone is maddening.
