Not a great long-term political move by Republicans. CO is safely Democratic. Huntsville’s trending in a Democratic direction. @kamalaharris.com got the most votes of any Democratic POTUS candidate in Madison County, AL’s history. Moving more well-educated voters there will only exacerbate this.
One question is, will civilian employees be willing to move to HSV from Colorado? For instance, area schools are at or near the top in Alabama, but that just makes them maybe average nationally.
This is another unnecessary cost to tax payers and those who live and work in CO!
That will improve the level of educated in AL for certain.
He wants to punish blue states and reward red states, but yes, bringing this community to AL is going to change the political landscape.
You are making a big assumption that the people working for Space Command are going to be willing to move from Colorado to Alabama.
I hate agreeing with this but I do. For decades Huntsville promoted itself as the smart place in Alabama, but none of this "smartness" was homegrown.
I turned down an extra 10k a year to NOT move my family to Alabama. I have an adopted black son. I wasn't going to inflict Alabama on him.
