I don't understand why they needed her in land 1. You can calculate the distance to run exactly 1 mile in lane 4 if you want (and change the starting point). Why not do that and get better drafting?
Thinking totally weird for a moment: Let her Run on Lane 3 or 4 (remeasure the run for an official mile) and try to do the v-shape pacer formation. Some pacers on lane 1 and 2 might give her addidtional draft benefits. I am sure someone at Nike could simulate a wind model in the lab.
I also don't think that was a super-track surface At least not as good as the last two Olympic tracks from Mondo How could Nike mess up that bad, doesn't seem plausible? also beynonsports.com/en/articles/...
Which surface was it? Which manufacturer?
Mondo but a lesser surface the WS1 Olympic track surface is very expensive? they instead used "Sportflex Super X720" Mondo doesn't post comparisons but suspect when called "all around track" and instead boast "recycled materials" and "great for training" Have to research if any records set there
Okay, this is indeed a strange choice. Thx for the insight!
