Someone in my family who watches FoxNews all day, regularly goes off about EV’s. He has absorbed a lot of false information and is always surprised by what I tell him my (not a Tesla) EV can do!

Use that as a launching point to reinforce changing views at any opportunity. "Yeah, they've been pretty good for years now, but the oil lobbies keep fighting off the change" "Yeah, they actually outperform the T's in such and such way, but it's hard to get people to listen." And so on

another possibility, depending on their personality: "Yeah, EVs aren't for everybody. Lots of people are scared of change." this might push the macho-insecurity button. "Who's scared?!? I'm getting an EV right now - that'll show you!"
