Fascinating out of curiosity are the Japanese language games you mentioned specifically developed to help learn the language or have you found that language learning is a secondary aspect of the game?

For shashingo it depends on how much you like photography but its mostly a study aid imo. For learn japanese rpg seems surprisingly well integrated for what is a humble rpg maker game at the end of the day, and noun town is very much just a study aid, which is why i stopped at the demo.
