The KPD did not view the Nazi rise in power as threatening, their goal of a workers revolution meant they still viewed the SPD and status quo as the enemy. The KPD central committee stated in 1932 that the SPD and Nazi party were equally threatening to the German worker, and were “political twins.”22 The KPD focused on maintaining their separation from the SPD and actively worked to prevent a united front. The threat of the Nazis was not enough to erase the rift between the two parties which originated during World War 1. In Thalsburg, for example during a march organized by the KPD as a show of strength, the Reichsbanner suddenly joined their ranks. Rather than go ahead with a coalition group, the march was stopped and finished with a band performance rather than the planned speeches.23 The KPD’s plan was not to resist the Nazi party through a united front with a group it considered its ideological enemy, but rather to eventually stage an armed revolution. The KPD maintained the expectation of armed revolution among its members and was highly organized and capable of resistance. Because of this they could prove a significant base for effective armed resistance against the Nazi state.

That's exactly what we are doing And have been building the material conditions to allow for it the whole time not just after ww2 but before it aswell Fascism is the response to rising class consciousness which is a response to capitalism stealing all of our lives and sacrificing our biosphere
