If the punishment for treason had been swiftly carried out by COB January 7th, none of this would be happening-or at the very least it wouldn't be THIS insane.

The dems were afraid to make a right wing martyr out of Trump. They worried it would get Trump elected. So they didn't fight for democracy because they worried about losing an election and ended up losing both the election and democracy.

He was impeached immediately after Jan 6th but acquitted by the Senate thanks to McConnell. The DOJ got grand jury indictments but he appealed claiming presidential immunity and the Supreme Court ruled in his favor. The system was rigged to protect him because they needed him back in the White House

I understand he was impeached, the point still stands that even the people around him/supporting him should have been punished for treason. There's a domino effect of how he clawed his way out with presidential immunity, McConnell and Roberts are two of those dominos
