A2: That would make sense — and would mean that it was *specifically* the Israelites who he couldn't mess with, and it could be hard for a king to believe that there was an exception to his usual ability to mess with whoever? #ParshaChat

Or that there wasn't a price that could make it worth his while. Because perhaps there would have been other times when something was *possible* for him by shifting around some relationships, but also hard to pay enough to make it worthwhile? #ParshaChat
