Deportation flights using DoD planes, the method introduced by Trump, cost over $800,000 per trip, with each flight transporting only 80 immigrants. Similar deportation flights chartered by DHS would cost only $8k. Mexico also refuses to allow US military aircraft to land there.

So... when such a flight enters Mexican airspace, fighters will intercept it and escort to a military airfield? There the passengers and crew will be detained and deported back to US in buses? And the aircraft will be confiscated, only to be returned after an agreement on US concessions to Mexico?

It just wouldn't be cleared to land. Those planes can't just land anywhere without ground support.

They can yechnically land, just ground support would be difficult. The legal side is the interesting part. If they enter without an approved flight plan based on diplomatic clearance, they will be intercepted by the Mexican Air Force QRA fighters. The US aircraft will be escorted to land. Cont.

But they would want to land anyway. After landing, the Mexican military will want to board the aircraft. US military will not allow. The US military will want to disembark the passengers. Mexican military will not allow. The passengers will be driven off the plane anyway. Cont.

It usually doesn't work like that. First, they're lucky to get 80 immigrants on board, let alone a defense force to boot. Second, they'd risk an accident without appropriate clearance. Unless Nicholas Cage is on that plane, it ain't landing without permission.

With a C-17? It was designed to land without ground support.

Then the plane will start moving towards the runway to take off. The taxiway will be physically blocked to detain the aircraft and crew. Crazy.

None of Trumps Exec. Orders are going to bring down the price of eggs, housing or gas. His orders are attacking FEMA, lowering Billionaires taxes, and trying to jail any political opposition. He's more concerned about the size of his inauguration and renaming the Gulf of Mexico than real issues.

$8k sounds low on a per flight hour basis. Does it specify aircraft and capacity? I think something like a modern airliner is closer to 20k per hour or greater depending on contract type

The source didn't specify the aircraft type, but deals can be worked on a government sponsored charter.

Its almost a mystery why Trump went bankrupt with every single business he ever started... oh wait no its not... and he doesnt care because all that money is taxpayers money, so unlimited waste of money is all good... for the private contractors who get the contracts.

It’s documented that C-17’s cost $24k per hour to operate. For a 10 hour round trip that’s $240k. Where’s the other $560k?

I'll have to recall the data to cite the additional hidden costs. That said, even a quarter million is a lot to deport only 80 people.

I found an article in The Mirror, and it was not really truthful. Said that C-17’s cost $24k per hour, but some larger plane is more expensive, and that’s where the $800k comes from, but it wasn’t definite they were using that more expensive plane. Just want to make sure I’m sharing accurate info.

The Mirror is considered unreliable, comparable to a tabloid.

I know, it was the only source I could find that mentioned where the $800k figure came from. So the $800k figure is from a tabloid? Not a great situation for something going viral rn.

Is this advice to the fuhrer? He can run up the debt in dollars, cause an international recession and eventually default in dollars and then convert the currency to crypto. We all lose but he keeps running.
