I don’t bother with Microsoft Worthless when they decided that it wasn’t enough to take ridiculous amounts of our money once. Now they take your money every year

Yeah, I feel that. You can still get one-off licences (at least I did a year or so ago) but they don’t make it easy to find. I did try Scrivener and might again.

I'm doing fine with Pages. My only complaint is that it doesn't allow you to change highlight colors easily, which makes color-coding your notes too much trouble. Other than that, if I need to share a document with anyone, it's easy to convert to Microsoft Worthless format.
