I lived in California for almost 10 years while getting my undergraduate degree in Southern California and my PhD program in silicon valley. Virtually all the negative attention Newsome has received has come from the right, targeted at the left. You need to dig into the details of these attacks.
And as for me. Ive lived in Northern California for 41 years. Not saying it as a brag. Just some light humor.
Wow, I hope you bought a home when you first got there. I rented a small, shabby 3 bedroom rambler in West Menlo Park with 2 other students for 5 years. They kept trying to sell it out from under us but the asking price of that 1800 sqft "fixer" would have bought a huge mansion in most other states.

It seems he’s pretty unpopular with certain groups for his handling of the homeless issues, and he’s not a great person on transgender issues either.
Maybe people are just fed up with Newsom’s terrible management of California.
