Agree. I’ve never seen our village so busy in the summer… the lakes, the trails, the cafés. It’s great to see local businesses doing well, but honestly I can’t wait for the peace and quiet to return for Sept/Oct before the winter prep begins!
Are you talking pupil or teacher? I used to live my life for 6 weeks every summer, now I look forward to the quiet of September… and no more evenings of planning/preparation/record keeping! Retirement- I know I’m very lucky!

My cousin retired from teaching this year but had to be reminded to remain calm and relaxed whilst visiting Lough Corrib recently...as this would be the first September of no school...
You can tell it’s nearly the end of August because the Brico Leclerc at Ste Foy has a large display of wood burning stoves set up.
And Action has both Halloween and Xmas stuff in

Sunday evenings … whether for school or later on, work. I’m so happy and grateful to be retired.
Granddaughter is happy to go back to school to see her friends but not to work!

Angoulême: the city of roundabouts. Maybe a nice b&b and a big lunch? Weather looks ok on Saturday.
We've booked a little place for the night and they're allowing us in as soon as we arrive, so that's really kind of them. Plan shower, lunch, rugby tonight and have rejigged the route again as it's looking very unsettled next week. So a longer ride tomorrow to Mussidan for a day off on soggy Sunday
