I just sent it to another snake enthusiast who told me the same. He thinks it is a corn snake. I have 2 beagles, and they are cocky, and last time, we had a standoff of sorts. TY.

beagles are pretty brave, yeah. ha! rat snakes are super common around Central Texas. in fact, I saw this one just Saturday on the riparian preserve behind my East Austin home (this is definitely a rat snake). looks a lot like your observation! bsky.app/profile/elli...

Think they are very sim in length and markings. They are entirely too long.
