I really enjoyed the books and I like most of the cast. Ron surprised me positively. But I really didn’t like the movie: what makes the books great is the interwoven humanity which makes them way more than cozy. The movie lacks this. Also: Bogdan. C’mon.
My point: these books aren’t cozy to begin with.
I had hopes for this movie. :/ but what did they do to Bogdan?
The movie script did some of the characters so wrong! Diminished Donna, made DCI Chris a clown, and Bogdan, geez, I mean really!
I am choosing to believe the creators navigated trade offs as best they could. My memory rests in the puzzle room which was perfect.
