I'm with you on this. Ted Turner famously baited critics of colourisation by prankishly claiming he would colourise Citizen Kane. I think this prank was hilarious, but the fact that it worked illustrates that remastering art is vandalism.

Bladerunner is definitively exempt as the Final Cut version was the original edit. It was the studio, not the post production team, that cut the paper unicorn/dream bit.
