My ex mother-in-law was a Scientologist, and signed every last penny over to them. When she became too old to be useful, I’m pretty sure she was invited to leave. She finished her life a burden on her family, who could ill-afford her care. How they haven’t been sued into non-existence escapes me.

That’s just plain sad.

I know exactly how they haven't been sued into nonexistence. They have money for good lawyers.
