You're absolutely correct, but it may mean that the evil becomes somewhat easier to stop. Vance can't command the cult---he's a joke---& some sects of Republicans currently cowering from trump could pivot to open warfare against Vance, Peter Thiel, etc. to advance their own political ambitions.
