I'll be brave (or foolish) enough to say it: I prefer the white headlights. The colors of what they catch look closer to natural daylight. I don't think they shine farther than ordinary lights. The extra brightness may come from shining directly in your eyes. I see that a lot nowadays.
there are warm white LEDs that are super nice, those I can get behind. I'm mostly talking about those horrible blueish white LEDs. in general though even yellow lights can be annoying if they're too bright
I had "daylight spectrum" bulbs in the bedroom, but ultimately decided they were too harsh. They were a good fit for the living room, though. So I guess context matters.
