An assault weapons ban is a bad idea that could increase black market sales and ghost gun production. A ban would get pushback & is unlikely to pass. Age restrictions & training requirements would do more to stop gun violence. My dog & AR-15 saved my life and I never had to shoot anyone.

It's worked in every other country, but education and actual, proper, screening would be a good place to start.

The US is a unique situation. Other countries weren't inundated with firearms when guns were banned. How would a ban change anything when there are millions of guns already here???

Well amnesties are a good start, or simply regulating them. There's no quick answer, but the US has a serious problem!

That definitely makes more sense. Also universal background checks, age restrictions, competency tests and holding people accountable for not properly storing/securing their firearms. We need to be very smart and intentional and not perpetuate the problems!

Age restrictions already exist. These MAGA gun nuts keep buying their kids guns! Start charging the parents with the exact same charges. Republicans have zero problem charging double homicide for a fetus. Stack the charges on these MAGA parents of these mass shooters.

Black market sales of what? Black market really means secondary purchase from the manufacturers to you? That’s not really black market? 15 million guns are legally purchased A YEAR. Legit 👻 guns have been around for well over a decade. It’s not a thing. You can’t scale them to 15 MILLION a year

I don't follow. Black market means agreements between private individuals transacting sales of banned items.

Someone has to produce the banned items. The market can’t even exist without the manufacturers producing all of this for the gun consumer. 3D printing and some mysterious black market can’t produce enough for yearly consumption now. Much less fill the gap if a ban happens.

If you're stating that if ghost guns sales & black market sales don't add up to the amount of sales w/o a ban then the ban isn't creating a problem, that is false. Ghost/BM create unique issues because the weapons don't have serial numbers or any paper trail. Also problematic is WHO'S buying!

A really good example is tribal ammo manufacturers. Tribes have invested 100s of Millions in ammo manufacturing and fought the feds every step. They are barely statistically significant producing millions of rounds. It’s the scale of US consumption is why a ban wouldn’t produce a black market.

I'm still not getting it. If the government bans a style of gun, any sale of that gun would be a black market sale.

They’ve never been able to ban anything. Even the ‘94 ban just produced work arounds immediately. Preban restricted pieces poured back in to the US. Postban production kept on rolling. It wasn’t even barely a blip in sales they actually increased. You’re worried about a ban that won’t exist.

So tell me, how did having an AR 15 help/save you? And did you do something to make these people come to your property? There’s 2 sides to every story. And I sure don’t see how having an AR 15 saved you.

The hillbillies broke into my home, stole 2k rounds of ammo so they knew what guns I had. After they burned my home down, I saw the main creep, Phelps lurking around in the trees at the bottom of the hill. I got my guns and gave him a demonstration w/ rapid fire, double/triple taps & LOUDNESS.
