More than 1/3 of Americans either don’t believe in God or unsure? In 2022, a Gallup poll found 80+% believed in God. That’s either a ginormous swing or one of those polls is way, way off.

Gallup's own 2022 writeup of its polling shows how question wording affects things tremendously! They got 81% agreeing to a simple binary yes/no. When given a range of options, 64% are "convinced God exists." That's basically the same as the 62% we found saying God "definitely" exists.
