Yeah, I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago and while there was “buy Canadian” sentiment everywhere, nobody was anything but polite to me and my family and I’d be happy to go back to Canada next summer. Probably helped that I left my MAGA hat at home. 🙄

Well, they already signed an executive order than invalidated many trans people’s passports. Many of my trans American friends cannot get passports, or have had their passports denied, and functionally cannot leave, so I’d say that’s already begun to some degree.

As much as I hate the idea they’d have to, I really hope other countries follow thru with giving trans ppl in America asylum.

I very much agree, especially Canada and Mexico. I’ve been contacting my reps here in Ontario to push for opening a path. The GOP publicly stated their goal was the “eradication” of trans people, their published p2025 shows how, and they’re already well underway on implementation. The time is now.

I despise the idea they’re essentially feeling if they leave, but maybe it will be good to have their expat voices amplified as to how other countries don’t fear trans ppl, and how they can just exist peacefully elsewhere.
