Very little plastic is recycled About 85 per cent of single-use plastic bottles, containers and packaging end up in landfills or are mismanaged, UN reports say I reuse plastic food tubs as Tupperware and live in a city that banned single use plastic How can we REDUCE and REUSE single use plastic?

Most recycling companies burn unrecyclable plastic as Fuel.

Just stop making packaging out of plastics 3, 6, and 7. If they have to make single-use materials, make it out of 1, 2, and 4 because that's easier to recycle. The others usually end up in the incinerator.

I can’t make decisions about how people manufacture stuff . But I can control what I use and how I reuse it.

A big problem is yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese and dozens of other common foods packaged in those virtually unrecyclable plastics. Rare to see these in 1s or 2s.
