whenever someone gets weird about modern medicine i think they should be shown the graph of childhood mortality rates throughout human history. until the last century or two, we buried every other child before they turned 15! that is the "natural" state of affairs!

I think they'd consider half of all children dying to be a feature, not a bug. Most of these folks support eugenics in some way and think kids dying of preventable diseases weeds out the "weak ones."
