Same story, different cities. My city has seen almost 150 % rent hike in the last 5 years. Greed has crossed limits. My city has 2.5% annual rent hike limit but the greedy landlords find ways to evict people and set a new high rent for new tenants and get away with the city’s rent hike limit rule.

In my opinion, a city is broken if its minimum wage earners have to pay 30% or more of their income in rent. In my city,a minimum wage earner has to pay upward of 60 % of their income in rents if they want to live in a decent basement, forget about proper apartment.
