You might be thinking of Ripley's daughters age and computing backwards... but her daughter aged so much because Ripley was in that escape pod, floating until someone found her. Had the Nostromo just continued on course (no aliens), they might have been home just a few years later.

It’s does say the Maginot is on a 65 year mission, but I suppose it’s not clear at what point in the 65 years 2120 is? Is it 65 years since it started, or is 2120 midway through and they were scheduled to head out again after dropping off the specimens. “35 yrs without pay” was a threat used.
