Remember the time Daniel Richler tried to interview him? That's another good Lou Reed story. Now I feel sympathy for Richler. Back then, as a callow youth, it was amazing tv.

I donβt remember Richler specifically, but I do remember Lou baiting journalists many times through the yearsβ¦
It was on the New Music. It was outside in a park, maybe Bellwoods? Richler tried asking questions & got few answers & no engagement. After a few minutes, Richler asked (paraphrasing here) "You aren't into this, are you? You don't like interviews or me? You want to stop right now?"
Lou took off the mic & left. Richler frowned at the camera, maybe raised his eyebrows. I think the NM producers hated DR because I saw that clip MANY times, repackaged into various compilations or anniversary shows. They were sitting under a tree! On the ground! What did he expect?
It's not like Lou was famously outdoorsy. Where did he ever go--Lexington 1 2 5?
