April 19th, small town Maine "rally tallies" (so far): Ellsworth = 800 (pop. 8,400) Ogunquit = 200 (pop. 1,600) Belfast = 700 (pop. 7,000) What's the population participation percentage we're supposed to hit to force change?

It's when Susan Collins loses next November.
My town’s population is about 80,000. Estimates of yesterday’s rally ~2,000. If we had participation comparable to Ellsworth we would have had 8,000 out. I wish! Biggest we’ve ever had, AFAIK, was a Black Lives Matter march.
Awesome Ellsworth, Ogunquit, and Belfast!
When the 4% propping up the 1% decide to join the 95%, the 1% get the chop; thats the real swinging vote. History's repeated lesson. Why there's locks on church doors. Maybe in america its different, but, I don't think theres a good reason to believe it is. So many hurt already.
👏👏👏 Coast of Maine turning out
3.2% I believe

The small towns may get us there - and beyond. "No local rally is too small."
What's significant about that point?
no one knows.

You have to have a general strike where people don't go to work.
Its impressive that’s for sure!! Its a true travesty it is not reported on better. If Trump farts we know about it, but that in these small communities 10%!! Is angry enough to march.

I hope these independent freedom loving residents of maine can influence senator collins to resist the fascism of trump and his enablers. If not vote her out!
not sure but I dont think those numbers are near enough. Need millions marching to the WH. Multi Million man march, like MLK rally up the troops.
3.5% nationwide. Get 11,900,000 of them out there consistently.

I am so proud of you for protecting our Democracy.

Erica Chenoweth says 3.5% is needed!
We need more SUSTAINED and disruptive protests. Showing up on the weekends is great, I've been to many, but we need big crowds, full time. We need to organize this possibility.
Exactly! 11,900,000 nationwide! That is what is needed. Not just 1 day here and there.
And not only marches and rallies (though those are very important). It's crucial to exert SUSTAINED pressure in MANY forms - writing letters, boycotts, strikes, etc.
Good question. Maybe when the mainstream media start reporting these events ?
The mainstream media is a propaganda arm of the billionaires. They won't cover anything that could result in less power for their owners.
Very true & insightful.
I keep saying…we need 150+ million American people to march to effectively demand that trump, his administration, the Republican Party, the traitor democrats be removed from government offices immediately! With 150+ million people…the world will know that Americans won’t bow to a wannabe dictator!
Yay!!
so if you go to info@generalstrikeus.com you can sign your strike card and become part of the millions who are working "to force change"
In Portland OR on 4/19 handing out 500 senator phone lists. You have a right to call any senator not just your own. Then handed out about 1800 postcards. 67 year old 1st year protester. You can also make a difference. Show up, make a call, write a letter. Be vocal. Be visible. Be disruptive.

I believe it’s <5%. However, every person standing up for the cause matters.
Enough to get on the news. The rest of the country thinks there are 9 of you and the rest are a bunch of fentanyl slinging Canadians invading our country.
Los Angeles can pull 100,000 people into a protest by literally just dropping a semi coherent post on Facebook with a date, time and “Pershing Square” in the body of the text. It’s not anywhere near 10% of the population. 10% is a movement in a rural, purple state. Aim for 15% next time.
As high as it needs to be.
Everyone. All of us.
The figure I keep seeing is 3.5%. All three of these towns exceed that.
11,900,000 is needed nationwide, sustained.
Thank you. I had a high school job working for a company that did telephone research surveys. In training, they said a response of 3% meant success. I've seen that standard throughout my weird career. If true, that gives us a target population to engage, to avert this ongoing crisis.
We're all hoping on that! We're waiting to see this home of the brave, be brave!
You and me both, mate.
If and when change does come, don't let the Democrats give up the game again like last time, please! Many of us don't blame the voters, they turned out at the height of covid to put an end to this. I personally blame the good guys who had 4 years to end this.
It all comes down to whether the Rule of Law matters. This question cuts across partisan divides, which may provide the necessary cooperation to push a criminal cabal from the Executive branch. I would *hope* grassroots nonpartisan pressure would ensure the Constitution has priority over politics.
Honestly I think Trump has something on them, he was president for 4 years, stole and kept a lot of secrets. What does he have on Garland and the Democrats? Cuz it doesn't make sense how they allowed him to get away when they had him dead to rights, the Mueller report, 500k dead. Epstein? AIPAC?
I know what you're saying. The inaction from Congress is shocking, inexplicable. You kinda gotta wonder why.
Right!? It's like I was expecting Garland to get to the bottom of why the GOP suddenly went from being fully against Trump at the first days of Trump's term to doing a complete 180. The RNC was hacked in 16'. But NO ONE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOP? C'mon! I ask the same for dems now.
It should have mattered a few years ago... This is what gets me... They warned us for years about how Trump was bad, yet it seemed like they didn't take their own advice. Trump was committing crimes right under their noses and he wasn't held to account. What reassurances do we have now? ya know?
