Meanwhile, if you had to, you could come on a six-month visitors pass, renewable for another six months, while you wait for your permanent residency status to be processed. You wouldn’t be able to work, but you would have free healthcare while you wait.

If so, we'll be moving to Canada a lot sooner than later. I'll have to double-check with our immigration lawyer on the free healthcare while I'm waiting for my permanent residency.

I'm not in the medical field. But I do have a chronic illness that I'm on constant medication for (cancer).
