IF you can come to Canada, just come.
IF you can come to Canada, just come.
The hardest part of visiting Vancouver was having to go back to the States. What a great city. And ketchup chips are the best.
On the train back to Omaha, we had supper with a couple from NYC who said Nova Scotia was one of the few places they’ve visited that they did not want to ever leave. I want to go to Port Royal and Pisiquit to see the grave of my sixth great-grandmother. I think I’d say “Grandmère, je suis ici.”
My wife’s 6th great-grandmother is also buried at Port Royal (now known as Annapolis Royal).
My ancestor was Anne Marie Doucet, and she’s either buried in Annapolis Royal or Pisiguit. Her son, Pierre Landry, ended up in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, where he died in 1815. Apparently, the Doucets were among the founding settlers of New France.
So, while you and I are distant cousins, you are a closer cousin of my wife; Anne Marie was her 7th great-grandmother!
The world is smaller than we know.
Born there . 🥰
