The whole bus was held up because of me, but thankfully they waited. When we arrived in Buffalo in the very, very early morning, everyone got off the bus and gave me a group hug. It was surreal. 😄
I haven’t been since 1999, when a security guard put his feet up on his desk and read my whole entire journal because he was mad that I was headed somewhere to volunteer and that was stealing unpaid work from Americans. 🙄 They ran security checks on me too. I was 18 and terrified. Never gone back.

I called and asked them to do it because when it rains or snows, we end up ducking under branches that are four feet from the ground to get to our house. It took a month or two but honestly, worth the wait. They really cleaned it up nicely.
I'm so glad that we didn't just chop off a few branches ourselves, which was tempting. The city guys did a fantastic job, I never would have been so thorough.
The city came by and "aggressively trimmed" the tree in my front yard –– with my blessing –– and I'm so happy, it looks 100x better and I hate it at least 20% less. No more leaves (and occasional cicada skins) in the face when you walk by!
