I really liked The Hobbit as a young reader*. I didn't try the LOTR trilogy until I was almost out of my teens and I'm so glad, there's no way I'd have appreciated it as a kid. *other good points: the edition I read was huge, had a great cover, and was framed by runes which I endlessly puzzled over

It was terrific! I boil cubed tofu in salted water for about 5 minutes and then drain and let air dry before coating in starch, I like the texture more that way. Sauce to your taste (or don't).
