Just passed a Tesla Y on the side of the road with a flat tire. After passing I realized that the person inside, presumably waiting on a repair, was reading a newspaper. A newspaper. Where the fuck did he even find a newspaper? Why does he have it handy in his Tesla? Glitch in the matrix.

Words are magic

My seven-year-old asked for a dictionary this week. We went to the bookshop today to buy one. She walked home hugging it, pausing every so often to look up a word, grinning as though she had been given a book of spells, the key to wonders. (Credit: Ann Morg)

I'd be interested in the cost analysis of repainting vs paying the cops to sit and watch a crosswalk.

But I note that they ARENT using AMC for this. Or their contract passenger flights. For some reason the USCG is the easier button for these flights.

I think they honestly believe that this is the four year churn and the CG will go back to their historical missions when the next admin comes in. But also the stars are dropping like flies. And the CG doesn't have that many. New missions are scary because there isn't policy and tactics yet.

I wonder if there are any records of USCG assets being removed from SAR ready status to perform DHS logistics support.

Real Genius highlighted this argument. Like so many other movie warnings, it got ignored.

Sounds like private equity to me.

I could see the argument that you want capital to rush to the companies to turn around the GDP drop. But that relies on the companies to do something to change the GDP drop. Which... I ain't buying.

What's wild is that the fed acknowledging this SHOULD make the markets freak a little bit. Cause a run to safe investments. But instead the promise of lower interest rates due to the economy tanking drives a rally. Investor brains are broken. The financial incentives are killing us.

Is it bad that GDP growth is half what it was last year? Half? That seems bad.
